This new rendition of deadmau5’s ‘See Ya’ will make you feel some type of way

“See Ya” stood out among deadmau5’s While (1<2) album as the most radio ready, but without the sort of ambient aesthetic per the likes of “Avaritia.” Rather, it was this single that boasted one of 2014’s greatest basslines in electronic production. The sophisticated sonics aside, singer Colleen D’Agostino rose to the occasion on vocal duties to match the instrumental’s jazzy attitude.

This week, mau5 steps aside as the collaboration is unveiled as an acoustic makeover with D’Agostino front and center. Sans aforementioned top-notch bassline, this rendition of “See Ya” covers the original record with piano while the singer returns to belt out her familiar lyrics in a new atmosphere that allows her to stray from rhythms with freedom.
