While Atlanta holds recognition for being the birthplace of the trap music movement, the genre didn’t exist in its current form until the sound worked its way down to Miami. One of the United States’ biggest hotspots for the emerging dance music scene is home to artists that have added a major electro spin to the aggressive style. While other towns have sprung scenes that adapt different styles of similar trap beats, Miami stays known for its signature sound: a raw and assertive electronic tone.
There are no shortage of artists making moves in the 305, but this one is certainly one to take note of. HLTR$KLTR has an impressive array of support for his trap reign; artists like Brillz, Ape Drums, and Heroes x Villains attest to his talents in the studio. HLTR$KLTR’s music is simply well made; clean synths and pounding percussion allow his projects to stand out in what is becoming a saturated genre. In “Icing on the Cake,” the young talent manages to dramatically improve the track’s original rendition, which in itself is a successful Ecklipze venture.
