“Future” has become a label in dance music as of late that has been slapped in front of many long-standing genres to demonstrate developing communities of artists that have taken it upon themselves to explore the possibilities of the sonic environment. Boston-bred producer, Sevnth Wonder, is a member of the future R&B and future bass families with his starry blending of R&B, hip-hop, and electronic elements. His latest brainchild re-imagines Steve Winwood’s “Higher Love” with Tokyo Megaplex and Stel Leo, taking the 1980s hit and flipping it into an unrecognizable future trap stunter framed by a cosmic array of dexterous drum work, tasteful bass leads, and numbing synth trills.
