Berghain announces first ever three-day festival

Dance music mecca Berghain has announced a brand new festival organized by Musicboard Berlin, a government-funded entity that aims to strengthen Berlin’s music industry. Inspired by pop-up culture, the event’s official name is, fittingly enough, Pop-Kultur. The festival will include three days of concerts, academic workshops, artist lectures and DJ performances taking place across Berghain’s Panorama Bar, Halle am Berghain, Berghain Kantine, the Schlackehalle and the cloakroom. Participating artists include Inga Copeland, Matthew Herbert & Band, Pantha Du Prince, Lapalux, Tracey Thron, Daniel Miller, Will Bankhead and The Juan Maclean. The event is scheduled to take place from August 26 through 28. An official schedule will be released over the next few months.
