Hot Since 82 is bringing ‘Taken’ to NYC this summer
This summer New York will be ‘taken’ to an unknown warehouse of Daley Padley’s liking. What began in London last August as the premiere of a new party concept, ‘Taken,’ has evolved into a grand spectacle that will see its US debut on May 23 in Los Angeles. Hot Since 82 will continue testing the waters by bringing his “bespoke event” across the country on June 20 for perhaps the most memorable rave to hit New York City in recent memory.
Attendees will head toward a rendezvous point, where they will then board a bus and be blindfolded as they are transported to their destination. Though party goers will not leave the city, they will not know where they are upon arrival. In blending together elements of raves, immersive theater and the unknown, Hot Since 82’s approach “nods to the old illegal rave days, where people didn’t know where the party was being held.”
