New World Punx unintentionally become first artist to confirm Electric Zoo 2015 appearance; lineup could soon be en route

Electric Zoo returns as Transformed for its 2015 festival this Labor Day Weekend. Already making leaps on its promise to hit Randall’s Island reimagined, reeling in TomorrowWorld masterminds ID&T as creative partner and Europe’s coveted Awakenings in support of s strong techno showing, its artist lineup still remains under wraps.

As festival-goers of the annual Electric Zoo await the roster of DJs set to hit New York City this September, at least one cat is now out of the bag. Following their performance at Coachella, New World Punx replied to a curious fan on Twitter who inquired about their next NYC showing; in which they revealed themselves to be playing Electric Zoo with solo sets from Ferry Corsten and Markus Schulz, unintentionally becoming the first artists to confirm a slot at the festival.

New World Punx’s tweet has since been deleted (screen grab below).

Update: We’ve contacted festival representatives for a statement. Electric Zoo had no direct response in regards to New World Punx, but simply said: “We are hard at work finalizing one of our most innovative and forward thinking line-ups yet.”
