Spotify founder Daniel Ek and Ash Pournouri to introduce first-ever Symposium Stockholm

A new music and tech conference is coming to Sweden. Ash Pournouri, CEO and founder of the At Night Camp, and Daniel Ek, CEO and founder of Spotify, have joined forces to launch Symposium Stockholm. Set to be held June 8-13, the all-encompassing conference will overlap with a slew of other major events occurring that week, including the Polar Music Prize, Polar Talks, Denniz Pop Awards, Scandinavian Music Summit, Summerburst Festival, Avicii Fest and the Brilliant Minds Conference.

In orchestrating the inaugural Symposium Stockholm, Ek and Pournouri’s efforts speak to the larger issue of properly aligning Stockholm with primary tech hubs Austin and San Francisco. Serving as the city in which brilliant minds behind money-making brands like Ikea, H&M, Skype, and Ericsson thrived, it is now Stockholm’s time to establish itself as the globe’s newest leader in music, technology and creativity.

“Symposium will show you why Sweden, through its entrepreneurial ecosystem of innovation and creativity, is uniquely positioned to breed tomorrow’s success stories, today,” Pournouri told Billboard. “We are excited to have the top minds in the world come together in our hometown; we expect great ideas and connections to happen.”
