ToneDen relaunches as new music-sharing messenger app
Let’s face it, there’s too much music being uploaded to SoundCloud at any given moment. Finding and sharing music with your friends is always a hassle, the market is fragmented and there’s no one stop solution for sharing great music. What originally started as a community for producers to share their work with their fans without sticky Facebook algorithms or a cluttered SoundCloud feed, ToneDen, has launched its latest feature – a music sharing meets messaging app designed to let your favorite artists and friends do the curating for you.
The platform’s mobile experience utilizes a familiar “inbox” where users will receive music as the accounts they follow push the tracks live. You can then choose to save the track for listening later or immediately share the music with your friends and followers through an interface similar to Snapchat. In addition to the messaging system, ToneDen’s new application will track the popularity of songs to create a real-time trending feed that filters through the chaos.
The service has some clear perks for artists too as every track-play on the service goes towards an artist’s play-count on SoundCloud. Artists currently have two locations for posting their music on the service: the mobile app or the web app (which means artists can still participate in ToneDen regardless of whether or not they have an iPhone).
