Avicii covers Nina Simone’s ‘Feeling Good’

Avicii’s love for soul singers is nothing new. His career-defining hit “Levels” used a 1962 Etta James sample to bolster its appeal, so it’s no surprise that his latest release comes in the form of a stunning cover of Nina Simone’s “Feeling Good.” Completely re-imagined from top to bottom, Bergling’s spin on the 1965 classic enlists returning collaborator Audrae Mae to deliver a modern rendition that remains as soulful as ever. Fans of Avicii’s dance-focused work may be a bit taken aback by “Feeling Good,” but for what it Tim’s soundtrack to the new Volvo ‘New Beginning’ campaign lacks in a dance-able breakdown it more than makes up for with an effortless and soulful cocktail of cool.
