Electric Zoo: Transformed unveils 2015 lineup with deep artist roster and new stage curators
The lineup is locked in for this year’s Electric Zoo, a festival that is due for a strong rebound with creative partners ID&T reimagining the experience for the new Transformed theme; look no further than the new stage design for instance. Taking place each Labor Day Weekend at Randall’s Island in New York City, Electric Zoo marks the end of the festival season for music fans in the Big Apple. The festival has historically strong lineup, and this year’s display of talent is certainly no exception.
Alesso, The Chemical Brothers, and Above & Beyond lead the pack as the named headliners, but they are supported by a strong cast of artists ranging from the infectiously talented Oliver Heldens, hardstyle champions Coone and Headhunterz, New York’s own Pierce Fulton and the rising big-room Tri-State area young guns Riggi & Piros and Zaxx.
Along with the typical strong main stage lineup, Electric Zoo: Transformed has announced a set of stages curated by various powerhouse electronic brands across the globe. Pete Tong, the world’s favorite electronic music tastemaker, will bring his “All Gone Pete Tong” party over to New York at the end of the summer, and Thomas Jack will similarly design the lineup for one of the many stages at the festival. And, per usual, Sunday School will be back to deliver all darker shades of dance.
The real attention is directed at Awakenings — the assumed EZoo response to the success of Ultra’s Resistance. For the uninitiated, Awakenings is a high profile Dutch techno festival, and the curators plan to bring a techno-heavy lineup on Friday before dropping into some tech-house on Saturday. Expect the likes of Hot Since 82 and Adam Beyer to bring the Awakenings vibe correct to NYC. It has also been confirmed that there will be a Live Stage for one day during the festival.
Electric Zoo: Transformed invades Randall’s Island from September 4th – September 6th, and this year’s rebranding of the festival is certainly not one to miss.
