HI-LO is the newest anonymous artist to arise with only his first musical piece to fill his silhouette. You may have heard his inceptive production, “Crank It Up,” at a festival or event recently as Diplo, Green Velvet, Kaskade, and Knife Party all have been noted for playing it at their shows. Finally seeing its Internet debut, “Crank It Up” lives in a vague genre space called bass house – referring to a sonic landscape between future, industrial, and tech-house. The cloaked tunesmith lands the two-ton scraping bass lead atop a looping vocal and repetitious percussion line to give “Crank It Up” a novel identity, of which it will see its full release on Mad Decent later next month.
