Major Lazer pay homage to the ‘Weedman’ with new song from their cartoon
Major Lazer are dropping off new music left and right as their hotly-anticipated record Peace Is The Mission inches closer to its official release date this summer. While new tracks from the dancehall heroes continues to roll in, their newly-aired cartoon is giving lots of people reasons to roll up too, with tunes such as “Weedman” and other hypnotic stoner fuel to accompany the animated feature.
Featured in the first episode of the Major Lazer adventure cartoon, “Weedman” is a sinister, dark ode to the supplier everyone knows but nobody wants to talk about. The tune is a gritty, minimal spit to the local Mary Jane monger, blending trippy melodies with winding rap lyrics in this short piece of nightmare-inducing nonsense.
