Mark Johns – All Day (Prod. Sweater Beats)

If there’s one singer you need to know right now in dance music, it’s Mark Johns. The Moving Castle Collective songstress put her name on the map with an interstellar cover of Jay-Z and Kanye West titled “In Paris” that she then followed-up with her horn-centric, soulful single “5 South.” Turning to future beatsmith Sweater Beats for her next showstopper, Mark Johns once again takes on Yeezy and his bellicose spectacle, “All Day,” to release yet another mind-boggling output.

Honestly, it’s hard to decide which is more breath-taking: Mark Johns’ vocal shift into an edgier, angsty lyrical space or Sweater Beats’ thrilling guitar riffs. Regardless, this standout production comes from the Filipino-American producer’s ability to find an uncharted intersection of his kinetic padwork and rock-inspired gruffness that then erects a spotlight for Johns’ voice to take over, and once again, beautifully cover one of music’s most prodigious rappers.
