The Martinez Brothers launch Masters At Dutch project with free ten-track EP
There are few acts that could balance the integrity of underground tech house with such prestigious DJ duties and Givenchy’s runways, but New York duo The Martinez Brothers have formed legitimate powerhouse with solid club music at its core. Alongside hometown peers Jesse Calosso and Blas Cordero, their Masters At Dutch project kickstarts this month with a complimentary ten-track EP packed with polished club cuts from the consistent club favorites.
Bass-heavy tech house and heyday New York club spirit permeate this collection of tracks, a cycle that evolves beautifully from the disco-esque flare of ‘Come To Knightsbridge,’ through to murky heyday techno offering ‘L’s With Cream’ and glitchy finale offering ‘The Last Palma.’ It’s not so much another attempt at the underground offering a history lesson to dance music’s generation-y, but a fine example of where American house music’s heyday can be transported into an incredibly relevant and reliable collection of tracks. With endless excuses to see the brotherly squad on the road both on home soil and across Europe this summer, Masters At Dutch is a fine extension of the no-nonsense musical agenda The Martinez Brothers are owning on a global scale right now.
