Spotify raises another $350 million; pushes valuation to $8 billion
While Tidal has remained in the industry headlines thanks to its star-studded support system, Swedish streaming juggernaut Spotify has rounded up another group of investors. According to CNBC, Spotify has raised another $350 million, which pushes its valuation to $8 billion. Lead by Goldman Sachs, the new round of investors was rumored to be closer to $500 million. The largest round of investment in the company’s history, the figure tops what Spotify hauled in during November of 2013 and trumps that of its first round of capital it received by a stunning quarter of a billion dollars.
