Squarepusher’s ‘Stor Eiglass’ music video is 360 degrees of WHOA

For the .0001% of people that have never been on Google Maps and used street view, the site has a feature that allows users to scroll through a full 360 degree view of a selected area and its surroundings. Well, UK producer Squarepusher employed a development team consisting of Marshmallow Laser Feast (MLF), Blue Zoo and Rob Pybus to implant the 360 degree view feature into his music for “Stor Eiglass” and create a music video experience unlike any other.

Traveling through a kaleidoscopic world of bright, dark, and psychedelic colors, Squarepusher places the eyes of the video’s female protagonist in the hands of the user. Viewers can use the arrows in the top left corner (or simply drag the screen) to survey the world around them as their ‘body’ continues to barrel forwards through the storyline. The video is available on YouTube, Android, iOS, and can be used with the Google Cardboard or Samsung VR Gear headsets.
