Jamie XX’s ‘I Know There’s Gonna be Good Times’ is the Spotify song of the Summer
Jamie xx‘s new track with Young Thug, “I Know There’s Gonna Be (Good Times)” has earned the title of Spotify’s 2015 Song of the Summer, followed by 24 records to boot. The annual list forecasts the most popular 25 tracks of the summer by analyzing the streaming performance of tracks and their positioning on Spotify’s charts. The digital music streaming company also takes a song’s vibe and “hard data with insights from its label relations team and trend experts” into consideration when composing its list.
One month ago, Jamie xx released his debut solo album, In Colour, entering the dance music world as one of the most emotional and inspiring bodies of work to date.
Trailing behind “I Know There’s Gonna Be (Good Times)” are other dance tracks in Spotify’s 25-track ‘Songs of the Summer 2015’ playlist, including: “I Can’t Feel My Face,” “Lean On,” “Beautiful Now,” and “Where Are Ü Now.”
