After ditching his big room sound for more melodic pastures, Michael Calfan has found his own niche in a genre he calls soul house. With aggressive chords and breakneck percussion in control, track’s like “Treasured Soul” and “Prelude” from the Parisian dignitary have successfully adapted to the main stage environment despite his lack of synth usage. Like Klingande and Bakermat, Michael Calfan has decided to experiment in more rustic sounds with his roaring summer anthem titled “Mercy.” Moving his stimulated key progressions from the spotlight and into the background, he dips into the bluegrass genre pool to craft a blaring harmonica lead that robustly takes the reigns and fuels the song’s high-speed engine.
