Nile Rodgers performed incognito from a park in London

From subways to sidewalks, unknown street performers fill city streets with the gift of music and entertainment but sometimes famous faces like to experience that grounding, raw invisibility as well. Music icon Nile Rodgers is the latest musical prankster to pull the trick. The 62-year-old visionary took to a park in London’s South Bank sporting an oversized hat, gigantic scarf and baggy coat leaving only room to see his famous eye glasses — and surprisingly, nobody recognized him.

Niles apparently had some time to spare after his gig with Chic at British Summer Time Hyde Park, who’s releasing their first album in over two decades. Rodgers tweeted about the experience saying people didn’t notice him until he began performing his classic hit “Freak Out!”
