Skrizzly Adams blends rock with 808s on ‘Me and You’

What do hip hop 808s and new age Americana have in common? Not much unless you’re Skrizzly Adams. The Jersey-born singer/songwriter’s debut single “Me and You” is a strange blend of suburban BBQ rock-n-roll and urban instrumentation that is so quintessentially American it would make Springsteen blush. Stuttering hi-hats and sharp-edged Roland 808s collide with Adams’ raspy, down-home vocals for his first — but certainly not last — slice of alt rock for the modern ear.
