Verboten’s StageONE Festival returns this season with Sasha, Jamie xx, Andhim and more
Two years ago, before Brooklyn’s coveted Verboten transformed from a party concept to an electronic music haven in 2014, StageONE was a new summer music event series that took place along WIlliamsburg’s sparkling waterfront. Underground heads will remember StageONE’s kick off on Independence Day 2013, which welcomed Sasha’s Never Say Never party — an Ibiza favorite. Later that summer, Maya Jane Coles, Davide Squillace, Luciano and Moodymann followed suit.
Fast forward to 2015, and Verboten proudly boasts a new and improved summer series to be held at Brooklyn’s iconic 50 Kent Avenue. Sasha will again do the honors of opening StageONE on July 3 alongside Scuba, Guti, Agoria, Kate Simko and Brad Miller.
StageONE’s second event, scheduled for August 23, will play host to Jamie xx, Maya Jane Coles, andhim, Matador, Nastia and Bedouin.
Matthew Dear and Carl Craig will exhibit Detroit ♥’s SUBVERSIONS residency on September 19 beneath his additional moniker, Audion, with support from tastemakers Magda, Jon Gaiser, Robert Hood (Floorplan), and Moodymann.
And finally, StageOne recently announced an additional event to take place September 6th with perhaps its strongest roster to date: Maceo Plex, DJ Tennis, David August and special guest DJ Koze.
With a handful of cutting-edge artists representative of electronic music’s house, techno and deep house scenes, Verboten’s StageOne looks to be a standout amongst New York’s robust summer landscape. More than simply a musical showcase, the series will also offer a wide array of food vendors, games and stunning art installations for concertgoers.
