Adam Beyer showcases his tech house side with ‘Time Flies’ EP
The name Adam Beyer typically conjures images of pummeling Drumcode techno, yet every so often, his soulful side comes out. The Swedish producer’s Truesoul imprint serves as the home for his creative musings outside of his heavy techno brand. Yesterday, Beyer dropped a brand new 4-track EP on the label called Time Flies.
The EP sees Adam Beyer experimenting with more house-based tropes than normal, from soulful samples to melodic hooks. With that said, the techno backbone to his work is very much still intact, resulting in a nuanced tech house sound when all is said and done. The EP’s title track, “Time Flies,” arrives with a remix from Tiger Stripes that expands upon the funky nature of Beyer’s original. All in all, it’s a refreshing body of work for one of techno’s living legends.
