Chill out to Julio Bashmore’s elevated mix of ‘Holding On’

Julio Bashmore has wasted no time in releasing a remix of Disclosure’s “Holding On (feat. Gregory Porter)” – a move that will surely confuse any Bashmore fans with his original track “Holding On (feat. Sam Dew)” on their iTunes for years to come.
Bashmore’s remix consists of two opposing forces. A dissonant, jittery keyboard loop and tinny uplifter persist throughout the song while Porter’s vocals gradually join with a jazzy bass line and lush pads to even out the mood. Ultimately, Bashmore’s remix culminates in a mellow, but bittersweet tune that will spice up anyone’s barbecue playlist this fourth of July.
