DA Premiere: Ardalan – It Doesn’t Want (Original Mix)
Ardalan has proven Dirtybird’s most promising new addition — and that’s saying a lot with the quality of Claude VonStroke’s inner circle in mind. His chunky, syncopated house style has won over fans and critics alike. While first catching our attention with The Yeah / No EP, the Iranian producer soon collaborated with good friend Justin Martin on one of the party anthems of the year, “Function.”
With the Dirtybird BBQ tour in full swing, the beloved imprint is now launching a 10 track compilation called Grill$on’s Revenge. One of the tracks from the new compilation is Ardalan’s new original, “It Doesn’t Want.” In a similar vein to previous concoctions from the producer, the energy is derived from a powerful low end (in this case, a bulky sub bass) and the chopped up rhythm of the beat. Needing little more than sampled vocal snippets and a clear-defined drum kit, Ardalan opts for bold simplicity and it works out in his favor.
“The idea behind ‘It Doesn’t Want’ is about the inner diva in people. Hence, why there is a diva saying ‘doesn’t want that, that it doesn’t want.’ I figured I turn it into a house lullaby so the world could groove to it. While letting people know that Divas are just indecisive creatures of high standards.” – Ardalan
Grill$on’s Revenge Compilation is out July 24 on Dirtybird.
