DA Premiere: A-Trak drops new Jack Ü scratch routine in ‘Short Cuts’ video

There have been a dozen Jack Ü remixes already, but there isn’t anything quite like this out there. And that’s because there isn’t anybody out there who can scratch records like A-Trak. The undisputed heavyweight turntablist champion of our generation has dropped a brand new routine to Skrillex and Diplo‘s rump shaker, “Beats Knockin,” like only the Fool’s Gold Records head honcho can.

Cueing up Jack Ü and Fly Boy Keno’s bounce-primed jam on both decks, A-Trak finesses nearly three minutes of head-spinning scratching, cutting the track to pieces without missing a bar. Packing a level of skill behind the turntables that can’t be taught, only learned, A-Trak delivers an ultra-fresh routine that would make Grandmaster Flash tip his cap. Defending a dying art, A-Trak takes on Jack Ü without being another name in a seemingly endless wave of remixes.

For those who aren’t up on #RealDJing, take a look. It goes a little something like this.
