Giraffage drops fresh mix on Diplo & Friends with ‘75% new music’
San Francisco-born Giraffage has certainly given Bay Area natives something to be proud of over the past couple years; his smooth, bass-y music that encompasses multiple genres has gained him recognition from several major labels and has also landed him on quite a few festival lineups this year. Following a string of guest mixes, the producer had a chance at even greater recognition when he was invited to craft a one-hour special for Diplo & Friends.
Giraffage took care to exceed expectations as per usual. Containing “75% unreleased originals/remixes/edits,” the mix starts off slow, with smooth house and vintage 80’s sound samples. Twenty minutes in, a change of pace is introduced when the mix transitions into the smooth trap-esque sound that Giraffage initially gained notoriety for. Finally, things lessen in intensity during the last fifteen minutes as the listener is taken on a more eclectic sound journey with musical styles that can’t be defined by a single genre.
