Hayden James – Something About You (Just Kiddin Remix)
Having spent the past three years easing their way into the spotlight, London’s Just Kiddin are now recognized to be a tried and tested force on the UK house circuit. Timing their accession to a period when it felt like everyone on the European front was catering to a new age house gold mine, such singles as “Getaway” paired with remix duties for Becky Hill and La Roux separated the duo from the crowd in the best way possible.
This month, Just Kiddin add Future Classic favorite Hayden James and his moment in the spotlight to their arsenal of remix duties, donning their own touch to the unmistakable vocal prowess of “Something About You.” Where James’s original played like clay in the hands, the London duo’s remix grooves and flows in a far grittier fashion. That soulful and distinctly melodic flare is by no means absent, but there’s a definite sense of things being turned up a notch this time around. Past the big name remix, this one sounds like significant progress for one of the more consistent UK house acts of 2015.
