Mat Zo’s long-awaited remix of Arty’s ‘Stronger’ has leaked
These days, Mat Zo is just as likely to churn out a hammering drum ‘n’ bass single as he is a disco-tinged house track. It’s this kind of variety that has cemented him as one of our favorite producers over the past few years. It’s worth remembering, however, that before his creative awakening took form, the British producer was crafting some of the finest trance and progressive house around for Anjunabeats. One of his compatriots at the time was another promising up-and-comer: Arty. Together, the two created such timeless originals for the label as “Rebound” and “Mozart.”
Now, the dynamic duo have linked up again for “Stronger.” Originally an Arty production for Insomniac Records, Mat Zo has officially remixed the single, reviving the magic of their past collaborations. Whereas the original version succeeded by laying a reserved, emotional foundation for Ray Dalton’s vocals, Mat Zo takes a sample-based approach, crafting an altogether more anthemic rendition by way of string accompaniment and an infectious, disco feel.
It’s the remix we’ve been waiting for, and as it happens, we’re not supposed to have it yet. As it goes with these things however, a leak has sprung, and this case, it looks to be the final version of the track as well.
