Moksi – Drop Drop Drop (TV Noise Remix)
TV Noise emerged as more than just another big room outfit from The Netherlands, but somewhat suffered as the spotlight shifted towards the calmer and more commercial remits of European dance music. Yellow Claw’s Barong Family imprint seems to have brought out the best of the Dutch duo for its latest remix installment this month, channeling a pinch of their rage against the backdrop of a modern house renaissance for Moksi’s recent label work.
With the duo’s familiar rasps and wobbles still in play, TV Noise jumps onto the modern house band waggon in the best possible way, fusing coarse electro leads and groovy club fundamentals to show where remnants of the big room overhaul can still play positive havoc on the modern dance floor. We’re not advocating the current generation of Dutch contenders all throw in the towel and start mimicking the Heldens and Tchamis of this world, but TV Noise’s transition is one of the more fluid and genuinely appetizing we’ve heard in recent months.
