New app Bkstg secures $20 million in funding from Live Nation, Scooter Braun Projects and more

The new app Bkstg has raised $20 million from some of the music industry’s largest investment names. As the name suggests, the app aims to give fans a ‘backstage’ connection with artists by handing them a new tool to communicate directly. Though the social aspect of the application is at the forefront, Bkstg seems to have acquired attention because of its integration: the app brings in video, ticket and merchandise sales all together to be easily accessed in one place.

Former CMO of AOL Erika Nardini and Ran Harnevo, the former head of AOL video operations are at the helm of Bkstag’s launch. Names behind the investment surge include Three Size Zero Group, the management company behind deadmau5 and Calvin Harris, Live Nation, Mark Cuban Companies, Lerer Hippeau Ventures, Deep Fork Capital, and Scooter Braun Projects, the management firm behind Martin Garrix.
