Oliver Heldens starts Heldeep Records and reveals alias, HI-LO
Despite recently crossing the threshold into his 20s, Oliver Heldens has becomes a multi-threat artist. He is a pioneer in the future house movement, hosts his own radio show Heldeep Radio, tours internationally to perform at festivals like Ultra Miami and TomorrowWorld, recently kicked off an Ibiza residency with Martin Garrix, and much more. It seems impossible for him to add more to his plate, but Oliver Heldens has now started his own record label, Heldeep Records, and has come forth as the mastermind behind the mysterious, breakout presage, HI-LO.
Oliver Heldens’ Heldeep Radio show has evolved into a nurturing environment for budding producers to showcase their music with the endorsement of one of dance music’s most talented house names. With Heldeep Records, the Dutch ace will be able to further help his pupils and A&R their tracks to be distributed throughout the world. Growing his role from curator into label head, Oliver Heldens follows in similar suit to that of Tiësto with Musical Freedom and Hardwell with Revealed to make his mark on the record label front.
For HI-LO, the first single under Heldens’ alias, “Crank It Up,” has already seen support from Jack Ü, Martin Garrix, Knife Party, Tchami, and more as well as garnering over 400,000 plays. To inaugurate his new imprint and reveal his new alias in one, Oliver Heldens announces a new HI-LO single, “Renegade Mastah” for the first release of Heldeep Records – a modern aged spin on Wildchild’s original smash.
A clamoring, industrial house backbone interlaced tech-house timbre throughout, “Renegade Mastah” marks the next stepping stone forward for Oliver Heldens in his inevitably long-lasting with two announcements that show the world he is more than just the kid producer that created the smash-hit, “Gecko.”
