Popof feat. Arno Joey – Words Gone (Original Mix)
From Paris, with love, Popof has risen to the task of delivering Love Somebody, Hot Creations‘ first artist album of 2015. As a label with credentials buried deep in the underground club circuit whilst also rallying unprecedented moments of universal crossover, Jamie Jones and Lee Foss have always had an ear for the weird, the wonderful, and everything remotely interesting from the left-of-field.
As one of three Arno Joey-assisted album tracks, Love Somebody’s opening cut ‘Words Gone’ sets the tone for a record with soul and colorful club experimentation on the agenda. Playfully balancing Joey’s sultry vocal work with a stripped back arrangement of nostalgic lead work and coordinated keys, the track is the epitomy of nonsense electronic composure cut for the universal palate. What’s most reassuring about Hot Creation’s crossover moments is the organic nature of them — a criteria this Parisian heavyweight has seamlessly embodied for this stellar label debut.
