It’s been 14 years since the passing of music icon and the original Princess of R&B, Aaliyah, and her catalog of chart-topping hits and honey-dipped voice will echo in the teachings of music history forever. Disco duo Du Tonc have payed homage to the late legend with a chill nu-disco remix of her Grammy-nominated classic “Rock The Boat,” the song which she was shooting the music video for in the Bahamas before her untimely departure on August 25, 2001. While Du Tonc infuse electro synths and a groovy bassline, Aaliyah’s effortless swag and ethereal pipes are still on full display.
