Bassnectar expected to curate major festival stage in 2016
There are generally only a few ways to do serious taste making in this industry. Run a top-tier record imprint like OWSLA, Mad Decent, or Fool’s Gold, or hold down a prime radio show and premiere tunes across the airwaves. Now add “nail a festival outing so hard the festival asks you to curate your own stage next year” to that list. As it goes, Moonrise Festival touched down in Baltimore this past weekend, with tons of positive press coming from the festival all weekend long. Bassnectar was the event’s highly-anticipated headlining act, and in typical fashion, Lorin put on one of the hardest shows of the weekend. Now Moonrise has reached out to the veteran producer to curate his own stage at the festival’s 2016 installment.
Bassnectar’s avid fan base are already 10,000 signatures strong on a petition to have the beloved bass maestro host his own festival sometime in the future. With one festival stage lineup coming by 2016, maybe a whole Bassnectar festival someday isn’t too far off.
