Above & Beyond release official remixes for ‘Counting Down the Days’

Above & Beyond’s wistful ballad “Counting Down the Days (feat. Gemma Hayes)” has achieved major popularity in the last year, experiencing a particular spike in publicity last month with the release of its 500 Days of Summer themed music video.

Last week, the trio released an EP including four remixes of the single, as well as their own extended mix. Jono, Paavo, and Tony’s eclectic tastes are evident in the diversity of their selections for the official remixes. Each re-imagining provides a unique energy, while retaining the sentimental essence of the original track. Yotto’s remix continues the ethereal trance-house character of the original, while Shur-i-kan opts for a pleasant, but glitchy, deep house spin. Judah play their hand with a bitingly celestial spin which harkens back to new wave electronica, while Hospital Records signee Keeno stays true to his label’s essence with a straightforward drum and bass remix. Topping the EP off, Above & Beyond reward their fans with their own extended mix. Listen to all five tracks below:
