Blonde – Feel Good (It’s Alright) feat. Karen Harding (Original Mix)
In the span of a year, UK duo Blonde have enraptured the attention of Pete Tong, Parlophone, BBC Radio 1 and more with their pop-savvy productions. What initially began as a casual collaboration between two house heads soon led to a number of releases performing on the UK Singles Chart. In a similar vein to acts like Disclosure and Gorgon City, the Bristol newcomers combine underground sensibility with radio-friendly arrangements.
Blonde’s newest track is “Feel Good (It’s Alright),” featuring vocals from Karen Harding. The song works off a fairly straightforward formula of a stripped down house kit, bangin’ bassline, and vocal hook. The real magic comes in the incorporation of the garage-flavored chords and the halftime bridge around the two minute mark.
Have Blonde reinvented the wheel with their latest single? Certainly not; but it’s a damn good summer anthem and deserving of its share of radio play.
