Calvin Harris casts Gigi Hadid as lead in ‘How Deep is Your Love’
Calvin Harris fans rejoiced when the producer released “How Deep is Your Love,” a single showcasing his venture into deep house music. In collaboration with London trio Disciples, Harris effortlessly whipped up an infectious track with hypnotizing vocals from Ina Wroldson.
The official music video for “How Deep is Your Love” exclusively premiered on TIDAL the other day, but has been uploaded to YouTube for non-subscribers. Model Gigi Hadid, who is friends with Harris’ girlfriend Taylor Swift, serves as the protagonist of the short film. She wakes up in a foreign place, and has colorful, but seemingly manic episodes that transport her between the nightclub and pool, to a motorcycle gang meeting and jet ski session.
The video closes with scenes of a large bonfire beach party, with sparklers included. “How Deep is Your Love” chronicles Hadid’s journey from confusion to wonderment, with shower scenes in between, and community integration as the finale.
