Good Morning Mix: Valentino Khan showcases his best on Diplo and Friends
Few men throughout history have worn the fu manchu with such machismo and pride. Hulk Hogan and Joe Namath have represented it well in the past, however currently Valentino Khan is the mustache of the moment. Backed by the OWSLA Records powerhouse, the mustachioed maestro continues to extend a track record of genre-blurring dominance with a catalog that can’t be touched. From some of the most recognized trap and hip-hop beats to twerk-ready party cuts, and shattering electro, Valentino Khan has a taste for everything, and each production one ups the last. Following up his 2013 Diplo and Friends mix, Valentino is back for a second installment to showcase just how far he’s come in recent years.
Riding the waves on one of this summer’s biggest jams, the “Deep Down Low” producer flexes exactly what caught Skrillex‘s ear, spinning hits from Dillon Francis, GTA and Major Lazer, with Zomboy, Flosstradamus, Bro Safari, and Jack Ü all over the track list. The mix even includes a special premiere of a DJ Snake remix to Calvin Harris‘ “How Deep is Your Love.”
Diplo mentions that it was nearly a half a decade grind of shopping demos for Valentino before he took off, but with the LA-based hit maker now at the top of his game, a new BBC mix to mark a huge summer for The Khan is exactly what we needed.
