Lido and the KORK Orchestra give BANKS’ ‘Drowning’ an incredible re-work
BANKS has risen through the R&B ranks over the past couple years for her sultry voice and technical background tracks. Lido is known for his experimental and eclectic productions which usually air on the bassier side. Therefore, his cover of BANKS’ tune “Drowning” was an unexpected, yet welcome surprise. As one might gather after seeing orchestras involved in the re-creation of EDM songs in the past, the result was just as, if not more, stunning than the original. Precise pizzicato on the string end and dramatic brass are the hallmarks of “Drowning’s” classical rendition, while Lido enchanted the audience with his velvety voice and awe-inspiring crooning skills. Upon seeing the musicianship in this cover, one can only hope to see more classical covers done with Lido’s own compositions.
