Swedish House Mafia end 2-year SoundCloud silence
Swedish House Mafia hold a special place in the hearts and minds of electronic music fans the world over. Their One Last Tour ended in goosebumps and tears for millions of SHM-diehards. The split came at the height of their popularity but canonized them as one of the greatest acts to ever put their hands in the air. Revolutionary in their own right, they paved the way for the arena tours and superduos that now populate the dance music landscape. Rumors swirl every few months about a suspected reunion and the latest pot stirring comes courtesy of the trio themselves. Their dormant SoundCloud has been resurrected to play host to their first ever Essential Mix for Pete Tong’s famed broadcast. Recorded in 2007 in Ibiza, the mix will send chills up the spine of the trio’s oldest fans. This was before “Don’t You Worry Child,” “Greyhound” and even “One.” It’s a stunning collection of biting electro and progressive house as only the Swede’s could muster and it will certainly make you think “music was better back in the day.”
