Thom Yorke to tackle Broadway for his latest venture
Over the years, Thom Yorke’s name has become synonymous with eccentricity. Through Radiohead, him and his bandmates have helped define modern alternative rock with their wide array of albums. More recently, the debut album of his Atoms for Peace project was held in high esteem in the underground music community with it minimal and eclectic approach to song production.
Therefore, the recent announcement of Yorke’s foray into Broadway is a natural progression of his career. According to In Your Speakers, the artist will be penning original music to go along with Douglas Hodge’s play Old Times. The play is an “unsettling drama of desire and blurred realities,” and Hodge has already declared that Thom Yorke’s exploration of themes of love and memory through music complements the play perfectly. He commented further: “I’m hopeful this collaboration will result in a new kind of theatergoer coming to our show.” We’ll be able to hear Yorke’s take on Broadway beginning on October 6th when Old Times premiers.
