Matt and Eli, better known as Two Friends, saw their entry into dance music a short while back when their expertly crafted mash-ups began running viral amongst the college crowd’s weekend playlists. Taking the inevitable plunge into the production pool shortly after, the LA besties have been producing progressive house offerings for about two years, but as times and trends change, they foresaw an adaptation in their style to stand out amongst all the noise. Perceiving the direct correlation between their inherent knack for progressive melodies and the newly developed, soul house genre, Two Friends have successfully applied their refreshed sound to Alesso, Milky Chance, and most recently, Vicetone’s “Angels.” Slapping down a bustling drum system to keep the original’s fiery nature fully in tact, the Two Friends crash a bouncing chord progression alongside Kat Nestel’s roaring lyrics to give the Dutch duo’s single a fuel-injected boost.
