Put together in the correct arrangement, a simple pattern of notes becomes a smile-inducing melody. Playing around with simpler aspects of EDM, X & Cheat Codes have done just that with their newest collaboration “Hold On.” Strummed out by perky electric guitars and accented with light synths, X produced a mellow, indie-influenced backdrop that allows Cheat Code’s raspy vocals to take center stage.
