Above & Beyond’s ‘Fly to New York’ unveiled as Electric Zoo: Transformed anthem
This Labor Day weekend, Electric Zoo is slated to take over Randall’s Island Park in New York as a bigger new edition. Electric Zoo: Transformed has introduced the anthem for this year’s event as “Fly to New York,” a new single from their Saturday headliner, Above & Beyond.
“Fly to New York” was co-written by singer-songwriter and frequent collaborator Zoë Johnston. Amidst uplifting chords and harmonic vocals, the lyrics weave a wistful tale of love vs. loss, and dreams vs. reality. The music video for “Flying to New York” is inspired by the romantic movie Sleepless Seattle, and pairs perfectly with the single’s motif.
Though “Fly to New York” is heavy in theme, its melodic aesthetic works as a powerful love letter to the city that hosts Electric Zoo.
