Listen to Diplo and Major Lazer’s sets from Burning Man
Burning Man, Nevada’s annual desert dwelling celebration, garnered top musical talent and a record-breaking amount of attendees for an event few would even consider to be a festival. However, that doesn’t stop notable artists, like Mad Decent mastermind Diplo, from performing impromptu sets throughout The Playa’s dusty grounds.
During Burning Man, Diplo managed to play a number of sets, whether solo or as part of Jack Ü and Major Lazer. At Robot Heart’s camp, Major Lazer dropped a fiery 2-hour set for the Sunday sunset. The strategy behind this performance involved the calculated curation of a mix rooted in their dub and reggae background, with a twist that “sounded like Major Lazer – ‘Get Free’.”
According to Diplo, the Robot Heart set was his favorite Major Lazer set at Burning Man, and “was probably the only set that I really prepared for with Walshy Fire.”
Diplo also shared his mix for Iguana Car, which rode around the Playa. Listen to Diplo as he spins hip-hop and house classics for nearly an hour.
