Madeaux debuts on Fool’s Gold with ‘New Wav’ EP
Last summer, we projected big things for newcomer Madeaux after his stellar debut, Love the Machine. Now the LA-based producer has attracted the attention of A-Trak and signed to Fool’s Gold, where he’s delivered a brand new six-track EP entitled New Wav.
Madeaux’s music has evolved substantially since last year’s offering, yet it still harbors the same cinematic sentimentality of his past work. The presiding theme of New Wav, however, is futuristic club cuts with an innovative, multi-genre approach. Tracks like “Empathy” and “Want” employ familiar trap and jersey club tropes albeit infused with melodically cogent material. “What U Need” dabbles in moombahton, but is unlike anything at that tempo you’ve heard before. Lastly, “Lost In Translation” alongside A-Trak blends bass house with a wonkier, Fool’s Gold flavor.
