Though the inauguration of SCALES has come through a series of high calibre releases, the London newcomer’s debut single for the label comes after sound evidence of his hold on an overhaul of UK talent that the independent dance imprint has commandeered.
Though the label’s average fan may not be fully versed in the work of Terrence Parker or his underrated single by the same name, ‘Love’s Got Me High’ is a touching tribute to the Detroit luminary and a sacred time for North American club culture. The melodically tuned house cut gives Parker’s legacy a radio-friendly tuning that effortlessly fits the modern landscape whilst respecting the raw and soulful origins of the track. If this is where SCALES is to kick-start his legacy of original material then the future sounds incredibly promising.
