Tiesto – Lethal Industry (Jorn Van Deynhoven Rework)
All it takes is the first four notes of “Lethal Industry’s” trademark riff to spark immediate curiosity over what will unfold; the classic trance anthem is easily one of Tiesto’s biggest tracks. If there’s anyone capable of making an equally timeless remix to the original it would be Jorn Van Deynhoven, and excel he did at his interpretation which has yet to receive a release date. Substituting tribal drums in favor of a heavy tech trance bassline and psy-inspired synth accents, the ASOT anthem winner maintains the core melody and energized nature presented in the “Lethal Industry” of 2001. Suddenly, resisting the wave of nostalgia that overtakes you becomes rather difficult if you’re a trancey Tiesto fan; that said, of other notable remixers of the track, it’s only Jorn Van Deynhoven’s version that induces this sentiment. As Tiesto continues to dominate the main stages with his ear drum-smashing house hits, the trance community slips into deeper remembrance of his days as their god father. Many of the Dutch legend’s older pieces have made appearances in sets this past summer, and Jordan Suckley premiered his remix to “Suburban Train” earlier in the season.
