Watch RL Grime perform his remix of The Weeknd’s ‘The Hills’

Henry Steinway’s storied career under the RL Grime and Clockwork brands has proven that he is no one trick pony. Steinway’s musical catalogue spans a variety of styles both across and within his two projects. That being said, he has proven time and time again his capacity to produce stellar rap and pop remixes. His collaborative remix with Salva of Kanye West’s “Mercy,” for instance, thrust his RL Grime brand into the public eye, while his 2013 remix of Chief Keef’s “Love Sosa” remains one of his most popular releases, and is widely considered to be a benchmark of his career.

RL Grime’s latest return to this mainstay lies in a forthcoming remix of The Weeknd’s “The Hills,” which he has been playing in a number of recent live shows. Based on the available footage, RL Grime’s spin on the track veers in a futuristic, ethereal direction, and is driven by a powerful rhythm section. Skip to 16:51 in the above video, filmed by YouTube user Vincent Li at Washington, DC’s Trillectro festival, and watch Twitter user @rahknee’s standalone footage of the remix being played at Berkeley’s Mad Decent Block Party installment.
