Armin van Buuren announces Armin Only tour will return in 2016
On the same day as the official release of his Grammy-nominated sixth studio album Embrace, trance godfather Armin van Buuren announced the return of his Armin Only tour in 2016. The unique concept tour is true to its name – no DJ but Armin for five to seven hours, in arenas around the globe, accompanied by instrumentalists and vocalists featured on his most recent album. The most recent Armin Only tour, following the release of his album Intense in 2013 and 2014, traveled to 20 cities worldwide and brought out guests like Lauren Evans and Lindsey Stirling.
Not much has been revealed about the tour yet except that it will continue through 2017. Based on past precedent, however, fans can expect that the tour will mirror the diverse styles of Embrace, including “the rocky sound of Kensington, the jazzy sound of Eric Vloeimans’ trumpet, Mr. Probz and his hip-hop voice, and the singer/songwriter skills of Gavin Degraw,” according to the tour announcement. Though no guests for this tour have been confirmed, attendees might have the chance to see album vocalists like Sarah deCourcy and Lyrica Anderson at select cities.
About his album, Armin shared,
“On my new album Embrace, I am trying to express the feeling how I experience a world full of music. As a DJ/producer I want to connect people to this world full of inspiring combinations. An endless universe of possibilities is waiting to be embraced. Everything is possible. The way I listen to music is the same way I approach life – with open arms, accepting all that’s unfamiliar and different. Being surprised by something unknown every single day; like a new idea, a different culture, or an encounter with an unfamiliar person. In that world, I can be myself and embrace all new experiences.”
